Isaac's baptism

Isaac was baptized by his daddy on Saturday. It turned out lovely. We have the sweetest Primary President who was amazing. Isaac was smiles the entire day.

(you may notice I'm missing a child. Leo did not want to be in the picture)

Poses

Grace loves to pose! Put a camera in front of her, she stops and smiles.
SEE! She loves to pose!

for some reason, she loves to do this.

Do unto others... blah, blah, blah

I grew up with the saying 'Do unto others, as you would want to be treated'. I grew up with 'Don't hit back', 'come and tell mom before taking it into your own hands'.  Blah, blah, blah...

Here's my change in parenting. Isaac hits Ethan. Ethan hits back. Isaac comes in and tells me that Ethan hit him. Ethan runs in saying that Isaac hit first. Usually I would have been mad at Ethan for hitting Isaac back, but I let it slide. I tell both the boys they are even and go play. Isaac gets mad because he thought that Ethan wasn't allowed to hit back. I tell Isaac that Ethan can hit back and that he should think about that the next time he wants to hit Ethan.

Parenting lesson complete!

Not happy

Leo is usually happy to be in front of the camera. Just before this picture, he was all cheeses. I know the picture isn't clear, but it's definately a keeper!!

Isaac's Pinewood Derby

Isaac had his first Pinewood Derby on Friday. Nathaniel designed the car and I painted it. I used my 'Pimp My Ride' skills with the flames. Not that I'm bragging... but I'm bragging. The Scout leaders kept teasing me by asking me who's car it was.

Virginia

So now we know that I'm horrible at blogging. I've become a craigslist whore. You would NOT believe the things people give out for free. The kicker is that you have to be quicker than everyone else wanting free stuff. I did get a vintage desk. It's freaking heavy, but it's in amazing condition.

I'm in the process of refinishing a dresser that was left here by the owner. It's got a 70's vibe to it.

And let's not mention that there aren't many families around here. Target had their after Christmas toy 75% sale. Oh, the things I got at a great deal!! I found a Buzz Lightyear that is normally $100. AND you've guessed right, sista!! $25 smack-aroo's!! This Buzz comes with a remote control, walks, talks and it's mouth moves. It does everything but clean. :)
I've been busy making sure that Ethan does his homework. I remind him to bring it home. I remind him to turn it in. Oh, and not to talk in class. Apparently, Ethan is a social butterfly too. BUT it's not his fault (according to the accused). He helps this one kid with spelling and someone else asked him a question. Nothing is ever Ethan's fault. :) He's a good student and life would be boring if I didn't have someone to harass. I remind him that he better do well in school because daddy and I need someone to take care of us when we get older. Ethan's even promised me a face lift so that my wrinkles don't blow in the wind on my boat.

I've been busy reminding Isaac to clean up after himself. He leaves his clothes in the bathroom after a shower, his towel on the bedroom floor. He changes into something comfortable after school and his clothes are on the floor. They have a 'dirty' clothes basket. He leaves the clothes several feet from the basket on the floor. He eats candy. Wrappers are on the floor, table, dresser, bed, under bed, near the door, desk, downstairs... everywhere but the trash can. He has a trash can in his room. There is one in the bathroom, one in my bathroom, several trash cans downstairs. He will swear he threw the wrappers away, laughs and then picks up one wrapper in front of him. I do remind him to pick up after himself and it still doesn't get picked up. See people!! I'm super busy getting after Isaac. Apparently my cleaning skills have not rubbed off on him. :)

I was busy helping Ethan get his Weblo's badge, Arrow of Light and his Religion Knot. And it's not easy when this is your 3rd ward in the past 6 months.
Ethan making the cross over.

I've also been busy teaching Leo how to be a mommy. Now he's teaching Grace how to treat her dolls.

I've been busy building railroad tracks for a high profile client. I've become quite the engineer. Leo gets a different design everytime I rebuild the tracks.

Oh and let's not forget that I have a princess in training. Whoever said girls are whiny is so freaking right!! I promised myself that my little girl would not be whiny, but I think it's in the DNA.
Grace's door
The church is still true on the east coast (in case anyone was wondering). It is different that there aren't as many members here as there are in Arizona or Utah. My parents lived in Fairfax. It's about 25 minutes south. Their old ward is in the stake our new ward is in. Isaac's teacher brought him a gift for his birthday and said that she lives close. She lives a mile north.

I absolutely love living here. It's winter, the trees are bare and it feels like home. We haven't had the chance to do anything super exciting, but life is good!
