Updates

As a family, we love to watch 'America's Got Talent' & 'So you think you can Dance'. The boys love trying to imitate the moves of some of the guys dancing, especially the robot.

Ethan is growing by the minute. He's an amazing help with Leo and Grace. If Grace is crying, he'll go and scoop her up. Since he is the oldest, he feels that it's important for him to discipline the younger ones. I have to remind him that I'm the mom.

Isaac is catching up fast to Ethan. I tell Ethan he needs to make sure he's a good brother to Isaac because one day Isaac will be taller. Last week Isaac asked if we were rich or poor. I asked him what he thought. He said rich and then asked if he was right. I told him no. I love that he doesn't feel the effect of all that's happened. Ethan doesn't like milk and Isaac does. Isaac was explaining that milk is healthy for us. He said that one day he didn't know words. Then he drank milk and he knew words.

Leo loves Grace, but also isn't sure of her. He doesn't want to touch her, but he will acknowledge her when she cries. He is helpful when I ask him to get me something. He loves jumping on the trampoline. Now that we are at Mary's, he follows Olivia around. It helps that she talks because he does everything she does. I'm hoping Olivia will potty train him for me too. Leo has the terrible 2's down. He has an opinion about what he wants to wear. He can be ornery, but he's my sweet little boy.

Grace is 3.5 months. She's a cute baby. She's happy all the time with this gumby smile. She likes to talk to who ever will listen. She's just so freaking sweet. Mary thinks Grace is hers. A mom usually knows all about her own baby. But I think Auntie Mary can tell you just as much... maybe even more. I was able to pierce Graces ears a month ago. They are pink daisies. They are so cute on Grace. I've even put blush on her so that she had sparkley cheeks. Another day I put on lip gloss. I try to keep her fingers & toes polished. Last night I had her trying on all of her jewelry that Auntie Emily made for her. They are still a little big, but so dang cute.

Friends

Ethan & Isaac had the best friends in our last neighborhood. I felt bad that we were moving because they all got along so well and come from great families. They would play video games, hunt for snakes, play in a ditch, play airsoft war, jump on the tramp, play in their fort. It was a great group of kids.

The Dragonfly Story

A friend of mine lost here son about 7 years ago. She had some really great dragon fly pins that she would wear. When I had asked her about them, she told me the dragonfly story and added that her mom would buy her different dragon fly things.

One afternoon we were outside and there was this dragon fly that kept circling us. Anytime we see one, we say that Sylus is around. At first my sister thought that we were meaning that we believed Sylus became a dragon fly. I told her about the dragon fly story. She had never heard it. I thought it would be a wonderful story to share.

When I went online to get the story, I found out that the dragon fly is symbolic for change and being okay with it. If I would get a tattoo, that would be a good one.

Caden, my nephew, caught a dragon fly. I think he's the insect whisperer.

The Dragonfly

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions.

Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top.

When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying.

So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.

But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!
